Sunny Sidmouth

Today has been another gloriously sunny (and very hot!) day. Both my hubby or son were free for the most part of the day, so we all had a day out!

First there was brunch at Greendale Farm shop. We sat outside and scoffed scrambled  eggs and smoked salmon, while one of the free range chickens was at my feet, pecking at the raffia cherries on my bag! Once she realised, she toddled off and found a bit of food someone else had dropped.

Then it was back in the car, our son offered to drive, bless him, and on to Sidmouth. It was extremely busy, as you would expect on such a lovely day, but we managed to find a parking space.

We walked over to the seafront where there was a nice breeze and a lovely view.....

We walked along the promenade, chatting and noticing random funny things, such as a man doing a little high pitch scream, dashing out of the sea. I thought he had been stung by a jellyfish. It turns out his parasol was flying across the beach!

After our walk, we needed a drink. So we found a comfy settee in a cool bar/restaurant. I had lots of iced water......and a Pimms and lemonade. Well, it is Wimbledon fortnight! We wandered around the shops for a while and decided to make the journey home. Hubby’s back is marginally better, but he didn’t want to overdo it and the sun was beating down by this time.

We all said what a smashing time we had. It’s not often we have a day out like this. Back home, I sat in the cool of the living room and spent the rest of the afternoon watching the England ladies football. By the time we had our evening meal, it wasn’t quite so hot, so we dined al fresco.

Tomorrow is meant to be a couple of degrees cooler, so I’ll get some jobs done after my day out today. I’ll leave you with a few photos of this weeks kittens, I had the ‘chore’ of playing with yesterday at the Blue Cross.

Cheerio for now, Ann x

    1. It was, Debbie. Thank you, he is a bit better, we're thinking he may need another epidural, but fingers crossed he won't!

    1. Thank you, Sadie. I think he will need another epidural unfortunately, as the last one has only been partially successful. But he is getting around more now :)
The kittens are gorgeous, aren't they? No chance of taking any home though, as Karma wouldn't allow it!

  3. Glad your husband is feeling better. Back issues can be horrible! I am also glad the kitten looks well and healed perfectly!

    1. Yes, Angela, although he needs more treatment, he's far more mobile, so life can be a bit more normal.
The kitten's eye is healing well now, thanks to the cone! (He was rubbing it before) He is a little darling!
