Trying to get fitter

As previously mentioned, a couple of weeks ago, I joined a gym with a pool and spa bit (well you have to say thank you to yourself!)  I’m trying to get a good balance of gym days and rest days. So this week was as follows:

Monday was a rest day, however I did go on a two and a half mile dog walk with two of my friends. They have three dogs between them , so I get to have one!

Tuesday evening, I went to Aqua, a water aerobics class with resistance dumb bells. I really enjoy this class, as it’s fun and being in water, it doesn’t feel as if you are doing lots of exercise. The day after you do!

Wednesday, I just did a session in the gym. A warm up on the treadmill (walking fast at a gradient), then leg presses, leg extensions, the ski machine (works the arms and legs) and finally a stint on the bike. After showering, I went straight to a friend of mine for a deep sports massage.

Thursday (mainly washing and ironing day) and Friday (Blue Cross) were rest days.

Saturday morning, I did another session in the gym, similar to Wednesday. In the afternoon I went to Exeter City’s first game of the season and we won, so happy days!

Today, I booked to do a Dance Fit class. 10am on a Sunday morning! It was a mixture of Zumba, Latin, Bollywood with a bit of Tina Turner thrown in. I really enjoyed it, even if I didn’t know all the moves, haha. But my, it was exhausting! Even my hubby, who was working out in the gym looked in at the dance studio and said it looked hard work. My face took about an hour to stop looking like a beetroot!

Needless to say, I haven’t done much this afternoon, other than sort some washing. I definitely feel better for the exercise. I have to be honest, having given up playing hockey at 32, I haven’t done much apart from the odd game of badminton.

So, that’s my gym exploits for this week. I’ll leave you with a couple of cute pics of some 5/6 week old kittens I socialised with on Friday. I fell in love!
Cheerio for now, Ann x
